Crosman PCP Challenger .177 Caliber Pre-Charged Pneumatic PCP Air Rifle with Sight

1. Introduction

The Crosman PCP Challenger .177 Caliber Pre-Charged Pneumatic PCP Air Rifle with sight is described by Crossman as the newest and best pellet guns for competition. Lately, this air gun has been approved as legitimate for usage in Sporter Class air rifle competition by the National Three-Position Air Rifle Council’s committee.

2. The Crosman Challenger .177 Air Rifle Review

This is an attractive piece of work, so we decide to see if it is really the best air rifle gun and scope as reviews of Crossman. At first look, the Challenger Pre-Charged Pneumatic features the adjustable stock and ambidextrously designed bolt handle from the famous Challenger 2000 and a special integral locking mechanism. Furthermore, the newly designed set contains a two-stage, match grade, adjustable trigger and a Lothar Walther barrel for extraordinary precision shooting. The dual platform that make this gun the most versatile air rifle, which enable it to shoot using either CO2 cartridge or compressed air driven by Crosman’s greatly popular PCP mechanism.

Crosman PCP Challenger inherited all good features of the Challenger 2000 line

All of the features above are combined with a highlighted pressure gauge and easy-to-use loading port make the Challenger PCP an effective shooting air gun which benefit all competition shooters.

After long term testing and reports from many users, we have some evaluation about these air rifles as following. The best thing about this .177 air rifle is its great accuracy. In general, the Crossman PCP Challenger .177 is very accurate and it is easily within the top rated air rifles in the Sporter Class . Personally, it is the most accurate air rifle I have ever used.

It will fit well for both younger and older shooters. The gun itself is well built and tough but it is recommended not to shoot in sandy and dusty locations. If the shooters have good skill, they even can use this pellet gun in contest against Precision Class shooters.

The accurate shooting ability makes this gun one of the best target shooting air rifle

If possible, do not let the pressure drop to red zone because if the rifle is utterly depressurized, you may find it is struggling to refill the gas cylinder. Although the rifle platform is dual, utilizing the PCP power plant is much more convenient than using the CO2.

A good advice that you should use Scuba tank to refill this air rifle since hand pumping is really tired and time consuming. Even for young shooters, the pumping is still a pain, for old shooters it is hell. That is why you should pick up a Scuba tank at a local store; even the used one is ok. The front sight globe is very sturdy, but it is made of plastic so you should handle with care.

The adjustable stock piece should be redesigned so that it can drive a little higher since the current height it is able to go is not being optimal for many shooters even the younger ones. It is my personal opinion so you can have a good review of this air rifle on your own. See the links below for its specs.
The adjustable stock of the PCP Challenger .177 Stock

Also, the Anschutz utility rail should be a little closer to the trigger guard because younger shooters may find it is unpleasant with hand stop location in kneeling or lying position. Since the stock is already adjustable, maybe Crossman can make it even more versatile, don’t they?

3. Conclusion

In conclusion, we are very happy with this rifle, especially for the joy of target shooting. This pellet gun is an ideal choice whether you are a beginner or a veteran due to its precise shooting ability.
