Diana RWS 48 Pellet Gun Review

This pellet gun is amazing in both performance and look. This powerful pellet gun has its strength generated by a stout spring piston power plant cocked by a side lever action. The beech stock is really versatile, well-balanced and it also offers greater comfort for offhand shooting. The precision rifled, fixed barrel system of the RWS 48 air rifle is loaded through the sliding breech mechanism. The RWS pellet gun compromises many good additional features such as the adjustable trigger, adjustable rear sight and automatic safety device.

The gun itself is accurate but it is recommended to mount a good scope for better performance. The scope will play its role in all situations such as long range target shooting or hunting. As for me the best air rifle scope is of Centerpoint or UTG brand. Also make sure to use suitable pellets for the targets you intend to shoot at.

To define what is the best pellet gun is a bizarre thing. The opinions are different and various. However I am still be able to point out some good things of this air gun and things that need to be improved based on my personal experience and reference.

Let’s say the pros first. This pellet rifle is hefty and it takes a very smooth cocking action. You will have a good amount of shots to get used to the gun, after that period this gun shoots very good groups. It is very accurate that I can shoot small fruits or crackers or a 1 inch group at around 35 yards. The .22 caliber shot by this pellet rifle delivers terrific deadly velocity and impact which is excessive for hunting activities. From my shooting experience, try one or two pellet types to choose your favorite pellet. Sometimes you may hear some ratcheting noise during the cocking cycle but I consider this is perfectly natural as my rifle cocks smoothly without binding or reluctance at all. In short, I am very impressed with both the power and the accuracy of this rifle.

There are a few things that need to be improved or modified. I would hope that RWS would design a stronger scope mounting system to make more relief for customers. The current one is not bad but stronger is better anyway. Though the stock length suits many shooters, people who are too tall may feel the stock on the short side but not too bad. Maybe the manufacturer will find some way to offer add-on stock system in the future.

Conclusion

By the way, have I mentioned that this air gun is made in German? This means it has met all European standards. Truly this is a best built air rifle, robust, rock solid and accurate. It is an awesomely valuable air rifle in all aspects! Don’t hesitate to buy one now!
